Innovative Language Learning Supports Second Harvest Japan with food and clothing distribution to victims of 2011 Tohoku Earthquake

2011-04-08
TOKYO, JAPAN, April 08, 2011 (Press-News.org) In response to the recent earthquake in northeastern Japan and its attendant tsunami and nuclear crises, Innovative Language Learning has raised nearly $10,000 in charitable aid and provided free language learning resources for relief workers in disaster areas.

As part of the fundraising effort, 50 percent of proceeds for all orders on JapanesePod101.com and its sister sites have been raised for Second Harvest Japan, an organization that provides food resources to those in need at orphanages, aid agencies, and directly to qualified low-income households. Because of its relationship to existing communities and distribution networks in Japan, Innovative Language Learning believes it is in a uniquely strong position to deliver aid to those who need it most.

"We strongly believe in Second Harvest Japan's ability to provide urgently needed supplies to the victims of this horrible tragedy," Innovative Language Learning CEO Peter Galante said. "Offering this modest contribution is the least we can do to show our support for the people of Japan."

As the company behind JapanesePod101 and with its headquarters in Tokyo, Innovative Language Learning has a special relationship with Japan, and is committed to offering its support to those affected by the tragedy.

The company also continues a program, launched shortly after the disaster, to make all of its Japanese learning resources freely available to relief workers or others involved in relief efforts in Japan. Qualified applicants should contact the company at contactus[@]japanesepod101.com or info [@] innovativelanguage.com to receive access to these free subscriptions, apps, eBooks, and audiobooks for iOS, Mac, Android, Kindle, and other platforms.
