Warner Norcross Offers Day-Long HR Seminar

The law firm of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP will offer its popular human resources seminar on Wednesday, May 25, in Grand Rapids.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI, April 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) The law firm of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP will offer its popular human resources seminar on Wednesday, May 25, in Grand Rapids.

The day-long seminar will focus on "Strategy, Risk Management and Best Practices: The Changing World of HR." More than two dozen employee benefits, labor and employment law attorneys at Warner Norcross will offer sessions on a wide range of topics during the seminar, which runs from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at DeVos Place.

For the first time, the seminar will be offered in three tracks tailored for all benefits and HR professionals: strategic, risk management and general. Attendees can chose from among nearly 20 sessions, including:
• Health care reform
• Talent management
• Wellness programs
• Union organization
• Retirement plans
• Discrimination and harassment
• MiOSHA and workplace safety
• Record keeping and retention
• Social media policies
• Legislative updates on the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act

Comedian Don McMillan will offer a light-hearted take on life in the workplace during the lunch hour. Named the number one corporate comedian by CBS BNET, he has performed for major U.S. companies, such as Google and Apple, and appeared on numerous television programs, including "The Tonight Show" and "The Larry King Show."

Attendees can receive seven hours of general continuing education credits for attending the program, with four being counted as strategic credits toward Professional in Human Resources or Senior Professional in Human Resources recertification through the Human Resources Certification Institute.

Participants can choose to attend the full program, the employee benefits program in the morning or the labor and employment program in the afternoon. The cost of attendance, which includes lunch, ranges from $80-$230, depending on the number of sessions attended, client status and materials requested. Pre-registration is required.
