As Workforce Shifts To Temporary, More Companies Celebrate National Staffing Employee Week

Snelling Staffing - The Wyckoff Group is honoring America's contingent workforce during National Staffing Employee Week, September 13th - 19th.

2010-09-11
EATONTOWN, NJ, September 11, 2010 (Press-News.org) Snelling Staffing - The Wyckoff Group (TWG) will pay tribute to millions of workers next week by celebrating National Staffing Employee Week from September 13th - 19th. The American Staffing Association established holiday honors nearly 2.5 million Americans employed by staffing firms every day.

"We are very excited to honor the remarkable impact our workers have made for our business partners and local economy," says Frank Wyckoff, President of Snelling Staffing - TWG. "This week of celebration commemorates their fine work and contributions."

Wyckoff reports that in the past few months, Snelling Staffing - TWG's client organizations have seen a significant increase in orders for temporary and contingent workers. This increase is being felt throughout the staffing industry, a shift that doesn't come as a surprise to Wyckoff.

"Employers utilize these specialized employees during a recovering economy because it offers them more flexibility," says Wyckoff. "Companies want to address their increased production demand levels without making long-term commitments to increased head counts."

Wyckoff says that this type of employment strategy is critical for companies in recovery mode. He states that the benefits of this approach include the prevention of overworked staff members, a reduction in overtime costs, the removal of unemployment liability and the elimination of payrolling, benefits spending and administrative costs associated with employment. Additionally, Wyckoff states that temporary workers are so determined to prove their value to employers for future permanent positions that they often outperform established staff members.

An article by MSNCB, "Need A Job? Contract Work Can Be New Normal," supports Wyckoff's claim. The article states that staffing firms across the country are seeing increased demands for contingent workers, while Monster.com reports a 46.2% boost of job postings for contract positions.

"With a larger number of temporary and contract workers in the field this year, I have a feeling more organizations will be recognizing National Staffing Employee Week," adds Wyckoff. "These workers have embraced this employment trend and have excelled through this shift in employment."

Local businesses use Snelling Staffing to contract qualified people in a diverse range of positions, including Administrative, Clerical, Light Industrial, Accounting & Finance, Legal and Biopharmaceutical work. Businesses from all industries use Snelling to find talented and qualified employees for both temporary and career positions. The Wyckoff Group consists of New Jersey offices in Eatontown, East Brunswick, Freehold and Lakewood as well as King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Brunswick, Georgia and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Pushing the Envelope - with Envelopes - in a Digital World

2010-09-11
The U.S. Postal Service may have delivered 25 billion less pieces of mail this year than the year before, but that doesn't bother Envelopes.com one bit. At a time when emailing, text messaging, tweeting and video chatting are hugely popular means of communicating, the recently renamed online supplier of traditional stationery and envelopes has no intention of going the way of the ice box and the rotary phone. In fact, Envelopes.com, formerly Action Envelope, is not only holding its own against its digital competition, but is rapidly growing its business. "In today's ...

The state's eight sanctioned medical marijuana dispensaries are expected to begin operating by the end of this year, providing the drug to potentially thousands of Mainers who have notes for it from their doctors. The dispensaries will provide one-stop shopping for people to fill their marijuana prescriptions, purchase paraphernalia to smoke it or even get acupuncture. But at least one new nonprofit is banking on the desire for a more one-on-one approach. Compassionate Caregivers of Maine was formed earlier this year with the goal of acting as a matchmaker between ...
