Hotels-Paris.co.uk - Paris to Display Francois Morellet's Reinstallations

Fans of Francois Morellet will not want to miss the artist's new exhibition at the Centre Pompidou.

2011-04-20
PARIS, FRANCE, April 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Reinstallations is the new Francois Morellet exhibition at the Centre Pompidou celebrating the veteran artist's career.

Visitors can see 26 of his past installations at the show, which will be on display until July 4th 2011.

As many of his previous works were site-specific, the venue has had to convert much of the space to match the areas used by Morellet.

The organisers claimed on the Centre Pompidou website that the collection is the first to be assembled in this way.

"It highlights the diversity of the installations, which it reinterprets if necessary or which it recreates and adapts the spaces where they were previously located, or the supports upon which they were made," a representative from the museum explained.

Morellet is widely regarded for his work in the geometrical abstraction movement, as well as his employment of constraints and chance during the creative process.

The display is accessible between 11:00 and 21:00 local time daily, although there are some late-night sessions.

Tickets cost between EUR8 and EUR12 (GBP7 and GBP10.50).

Art enthusiasts who want to book accommodation can find all sorts of options on Hotels-Paris.co.uk, including 4 star hotels in Paris located in areas such as Le Marais.

Visit www.centrepompidou.fr/ or call +33 1 4478 1233 to find further information about the collection.
