Birch Equipment Supports High School Senior Mad Mack's Passion for Racing

2011-04-20
BELLINGHAM, WA, April 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) At Birch Equipment, we feel the need for speed, and we've found it in Mack Brown aka Mad Mack. Mack's ready for the 2011 season at Skagit Speedway. The Sedro-Woolley High School senior has over 13 years of racing experience and aspires to race with the World of Outlaws. In 2010, Mad Mack finished the 360 Spring Series in 9th place out of 39 drivers, including a "Feature A Main" win.

The relationship between Birch and Mack dates back to the year before he was born as a sponsor of Doug Brown, Mack's dad. Birch switched over to Mack....just a few years after his debut on the track at the tender age of four and a half, racing Quarter Midgets in Monroe. At age eight, he went to Deming and raced Junior Sprints for seven years then moved to Skagit Speedway at 14 and was rookie of the year in the 360 class. Last year he did the ASCS NW circuit and participated in some national events from Montana to Oregon. This year's focus is Skagit Speedway and an event called ASCS Speed week which is 6 races in 6 days - in Washington and Oregon. For more information on Mack, visit his website at MackBrownRacing.com

"This kind of relationship is why it's cool to work at Birch," said Bellingham Store Manager, Jordan Mellich. "We get to know interesting people in the community on all levels. I hear to prep for the season, Mack's squatting 345-pounds in weight training, and I know the kid doesn't weigh more than 150. He also is on the varsity soccer team."

"It's been a very intense off season," said Mack. "My Senior Project has been building my 2011 race car. Then, there is school classes and soccer. I have a weight lifting class @ SWHS and soccer turn out, and I put in about two hours of training at our local gym. I can hardly wait for the 2011 race season to start and to put the Birch Equipment Rentals/Mack Brown Racing 360 Sprint Car in the winner's circle again this season. Thanks Sarah, Jordan and Birch Equipment Rentals for all the support over the years!"
