BEND, OR, April 24, 2011 (Press-News.org) Today GL Solutions announced the awarding of a new contract from the Wyoming State Board of Medicine to provide a new regulatory software system.
GL Solutions creates GL Suite , an expert regulatory software database system that is currently utilized by several other state medical boards across the United States. GL Suite is easy-to-use, highly flexible, government licensing software tailored to meet each agency's specific business needs, resulting in improved efficiency, effectiveness and customer service.
"This project will move our licensing processes into the 21st Century and will help us continue to speed and improve physician licensing in our state," said Wyoming Board of Medicine Executive Director Kevin Bohnenblust. The Board licenses physicians and physician assistants to practice medicine in Wyoming.
The Wyoming State Board of Medicine's new GL Suite credentialing software system, projected to go live this year, will manage license application and renewal processes, provide online verifications, as well as integrate complaints, disciplinary and enforcement case management activities. GL Suite will interface with the Federation of State Medical Board's (FSMB) online application system, eliminating duplication of data entry and improving mobility for licensees wishing to practice in Wyoming and other states.
The new system will make it possible for the Wyoming Board of Medicine to acquire a single, comprehensive database system, capable of integrating with FSMB, backed by GL Solutions' family of experts.
"The integrated data flow from the FSMB's Uniform Application to GL Solutions regulatory software will help advance multi-state licensure of physicians," added Bohnenblust. "We also plan to work with Wyoming hospitals on ways this data stream can assist in the credentialing of physicians in their facilities."
The Federation of State Medical Boards is a national non-profit organization representing 70 medical and osteopathic boards of the United States and its territories. The FSMB leads by promoting excellence in medical practice, licensure, and regulation as the national resource and voice on behalf of state medical and osteopathic boards in their protection of the public. FSMB's Uniform Application for Physician State Licensure (UA) is an online licensure application designed to standardize, simplify, streamline and improve processing times for state medical boards' licensure applications.
