SAN DIEGO, CA, May 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) Now ranked as the best selling detached new home neighborhood in Carlsbad, Rockrose at The Foothills will release a new phase of six homes on Saturday, May 14.

New homes at Rockrose range from 2,116 to 3,875 square feet and feature three to four bedrooms in single- and two-story plans. Pricing in the new phase ranges from $593,000 with up to $10,000 in incentives.

In addition to quality construction, Brookfield Homes has set a new standard for water and energy efficiency through its innovative eco-savvy program at Rockrose. Every home exceeds California's energy standards by at least 35 percent and includes standard features such as tankless water heaters, high-efficiency furnaces with Merv 8 filters, WaterSense faucets, low VOC carpets and paints, water sensitive landscaping, and hot water re-circulating lines. All Rockrose homes are pre-plumbed for solar hot water.

These measures provide Rockrose homeowners with savings of more than $1,000 per year on electricity costs, according to Energy Efficiency in New Construction: Bill Analysis released by San Diego Gas & Electric. According to the May 3 edition of the North County Times, "Other new homes in the region, notably Brookfield Homes' Rockrose project in Carlsbad, dramatically reduce energy use and lower bills."

"Rockrose continues to be Carlsbad's top selling detached because it delivers quality and value," said Lora Heramb, vice president of sales and marketing for Brookfield Homes. "We've made it easy for our homeowners to save precious resources like water and energy and enjoy the savings that come with these eco-savvy features."

A prime location, Rockrose is situated within walking distance to a new state-of-the-art high school currently under construction and is just four miles from the beach. Rockrose homeowners receive a very low tax rate of 1.2 percent . (1.2 percent tax rate example based on a sales price of $645,000. Tax rate will increase or decrease based upon actual sales price of new home.)
