HARRISBURG, PA, June 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) RestoreCore was recently awarded the opportunity to clean and renovate the US Airways Airbus A320 involved in the "Miracle on the Hudson." The plane is being prepared for permanent display at the Carolina's Aviation Museum.
On January 15, 2009 US Airways flight 1549 departed LaGuardia Airport and collided with a flock of Canadian Geese during takeoff. The collision resulted in immediate loss of both engines and Flight 1549 was safely landed into the icy Hudson River. All 155 passengers and crew members were safely evacuated onto the wings of plane resulting in one of the most historic events in the history of aviation.
RestoreCore, http://www.restorecore.com/, a fire and water restoration company, has been asked to clean and dry the cabin of the plane prior to transportation to the museum. The plane had been submerged in the river and stored in a secure facility following the rescue. RestoreCore will perform mold remediation and complete drying of the "Miracle on the Hudson" before it is put on display.
