Jason Wells Releases His Rock Acoustic Album

Rhythm, rock riffs and soul all come from Jason Wells guitar-playing. Hear more of it in his rock acoustic album "Stepping Out".

2011-06-08
INDIANA, June 08, 2011 (Press-News.org) Jason Wells is an experienced guitar player from Frankfort, Indiana - he's done it for twenty years and counting. His music weapon of choice is an acoustic guitar, but he doesn't let it sound acoustic only. Jason has stretched his guitar sound and molded it into rhythmic layers and rockin' riffs. Best of all, his sound has soul. Jason Wells is not your typical acoustic guitarist - he's not interested in playing you lullabies; he wants to awaken your senses and give you energy. He's not just playing to you - you're together in the experience. 'I try to reach out to them (the audience) and get them fired up, involved... that's my philosophy. Get them involved and keep them involved', Jason says.

Music has been part of Jason Wells' life ever since he could remember. He started playing the guitar in 7th grade and unsatisfied with a guitar lesson, he taught himself to play instead. He constantly worked at playing the chords, learning the riffs, and getting blisters on his fingers. But the hard work paid off. Jason has performed with different bands and in live gigs and music festivals across the country. He chose the acoustic guitar as his prime music instrument because he found it versatile. Jason is also an expert in looping - where you use guitar pedals and create an edgy sound even from an acoustic guitar. He kept playing gigs but he hit a bump in the road. Jason found himself weighing in on what music to him really is: passion or hobby?

Jason is a family man with a 9-to-5 job and music isn't exactly a stable job, a real moneymaker. Yet while he was employed, he had a nagging feeling that he was not living the life he wanted. It was as if he was wasting his talent in an office setting. And so, Jason forged on, ultimately producing an entire compilation of songs that feature his expert guitar-playing and singing too. He called his latest album 'Stepping Out' because literally and figuratively, that's what he did.

While Jason basks in the great decision to pursue his music, he also never forgets to give back. The track 'Cancer' from his album 'Stepping Out' is available for download at iTunes and all proceeds will go directly to cancer victims and cancer associations. This is a personal tribute to his father who died of cancer and other friends who got the disease. Jason says, 'Let's make a difference'. And that's what he is exactly doing with his music.

The entire album 'Stepping Out' by Jason Wells is available at iTunes distributed by JMD Records and INgrooves (a partner of Universal Music Group.)
