"Free As A Butterfly" - Laure Bury - The Fairway Village Wimbledon

Following her successful exhibition at the Canvas Gallery in Wimbledon Village, West Country artist Laure Bury is exhibiting a new collection of Butterfly paintings in Sportsworld's official hospitality suite during this year's Wimbledon Tournament.

2011-06-09
LONDON, ENGLAND, June 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) Following her successful exhibition at the Canvas Gallery in Wimbledon Village, West Country artist Laure Bury is exhibiting a new collection of Butterfly paintings in Sportsworld's official hospitality suite 'The Fairway Village' during this year's Wimbledon Tournament.

Laure's unique style and laboured technique captures the essence of femininity, naivety and fragility. Her textured butterfly paintings are an explosion of colour and joy with a gentle ethereal quality.

"I create joyous and powerful colour compositions that evoke a depth of emotion" says Laure. "I work mainly in oils using the palette knife to build up layers of vibrant colours giving each painting a textured quality. I then use collage, Sgraffito and the splashing techniques to integrate subtle and delicate symbolic butterflies and harmonious natural forms to balance the composition. My art is a tangible and universal expression of the triumph of the human spirit".

Laure's 'Free as a Butterfly' exhibition will be displayed from 20th June - 3rd July 2011 at The Fairway Village, Sportsworld's official hospitality suite which is located opposite the gates of the All England Club. Here discerning guests will enjoy all the VIP delights of Wimbledon with a champagne and Pimm's reception, fine dining à la carte lunch and traditional afternoon tea.

Liz Bell, Programme Manager at Sportsworld says "Each year we endeavor to source a unique artist to display their work in our stunning hospitality facility. We're delighted that Laure's colourful and natural collection will grace the walls of The Fairway Village this year and we're sure our guests will enjoy her collection as much as we do".

'Free as a Butterfly' will create a colourful and uplifting backdrop to the elegant surroundings of The Fairway Village this summer.

Laure was born in Versailles, lived in France, Mexico and Mallorca before settling in Devon over 10 years ago. Her paintings can be found in private collections across Mexico, USA, France, Italy, Spain, and the UK.

Laure's work, which is currently displayed at Canvas Gallery in Wimbledon Village holds an enviable position amongst an eclectic mix of artists such as Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Banksy and Lorenzo Quinn.
