The biggest Canada Day celebration outside Canada.

2011-06-14
LONDON, ENGLAND, June 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) Now in its 6th year, the Canada Day Festival is getting bigger by the year. In 2010, close to 50,000 people descended on Trafalgar Square, garnering much media attention for the festival and helping the build up to this year's July 1st celebration become even more exciting than normal.

The event allows London's large Canadian community to join together and celebrate their national day, while many Londoners join in the celebrations and sample a little Canadian culture.

This year, events include cooking demonstrations from chef David Adjey, hockey tournaments, Inuit throat singing, an impressive performance from the Canadian Paralympic wheelchair basketball team and music from artists such as Blue Rodeo, Karkwa and Alex Cuba. There will also be a chance to meet some real Canadian Mounties.

The exciting Experience Canada Pavilion will offer an insight into what visitors to the country can expect, while there will be plenty of traditional food and drink to keep you going throughout the day.

Hotels-London.co.uk offers plenty of excellent accommodation that will allow you easy access to the festivities. There are a number of Docklands hotels that offer easy access to Central London, including Crowne Plaze Docklands.
