LateRooms.com - Michelin-Starred Chefs Set for Taste Cumbria Food Festival

The Taste Cumbria Food Festival will see four of the region's top chefs work together to create the Secret Restaurant.

2011-06-14
CUMBRIA, ENGLAND, June 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) A group of leading chefs will collaborate to produce a mouth-watering meal for some lucky diners at this year's Taste Cumbria Food Festival.

The popular event returns to Cockermouth in September, when local gastronomes and food-lovers from across the country will gather to celebrate the very best of the region's produce.

One of the most eagerly awaited features of this year's festival is the Secret Restaurant, which has been described by the organisers as "the very latest concept in dining".

At an intimate 'pop-up' venue, a quartet of chefs from some of the Lake District's most acclaimed eateries and hotels will work together to create a one-off menu of dazzling flavours.

Simon Rogan of L'Enclume, The Samling's Nigel Mendham, Sharrow Bay's Mark Teasdale and the Michelin-starred head chef at Holbeck Ghyll David McLaughlin are the four culinary experts taking part.

"Each of the chefs involved are at the very top of their game and it's unusual for us to step out of our kitchens and pool our talents on one menu," Rogan commented.

Places at the Secret Restaurant will be strictly limited, so people are advised to reserve their seats as early as possible.

The Taste Cumbria Food Festival takes place on Saturday September 24th and Sunday September 25th.

LateRooms.com recommends a large selection of Lake District accommodation that should appeal to food lovers, including the Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel.
