BILBAO, SPAIN, June 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) Arcade Fire, one of the world's biggest indie rock bands, are set to perform in Bilbao next month.
The Canadian group will play a one-off show at the Spanish city's Guggenheim Museum on Wednesday July 13th before heading on to festival dates in Lisbon and Benicassim.
As Bilbao's most famous cultural attraction, the museum should provide a fitting backdrop for the music of Arcade Fire, which has won widespread critical acclaim for its grandeur and emotional depth.
The band won a Grammy Award for their most recent album The Suburbs, which was released in August 2010.
Featuring the singles Ready to Start and City with No Children, the LP topped 'best of the year' lists in many music publications and was compared to landmark albums such as Radiohead's OK Computer.
Arcade Fire are also often praised for their enthralling live performances, which see the eight-piece group frequently swap instruments and interact with the audience.
Tickets for the Bilbao show are available to buy online, priced at EUR36 (GBP31.90).
Music fans seeking a hotel in Bilbao before the concert will find a diverse range of options at LateRooms.com, which recommends the Hotel Carlton Bilbao.
