BANGKOK, THAILAND, June 22, 2011 (Press-News.org) For Wall Painting 2 is a new exhibition at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre that showcases the work of 16 urban artists.
Running until August 25th 2011, the graffiti show includes pieces by intriguingly-named creators such as Miss Ink, Space Limo, P7 and Never.
Their work has been set up in the Exhibition Ramp section of the venue, which occupies the 7th, 8th and 9th floors.
In a statement, the organisers highlighted how the artists want to be taken seriously, aiming to show visitors that graffiti is not a destructive process, rather a different channel for expressing one's creativity.
Themes covered by the pieces range from light-hearted topics to more socially important issues and the creators have been able to offer their own take on subjects without restrictions.
The venue explained that the message sent out by the artists is: "Look at me. It is not important if you see my merit, just look at me."
It is free to enter the arts hub, which is located at the Pathumwan Intersection, opposite the MBK and Siam Discovery Centre.
The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre is open from 10:00 to 21:00 local time daily except Monday.
Art enthusiasts can find a generous selection of Bangkok hotels on AsiaRooms.com, which recommends options such as The Twin Towers Hotel.
Visit http://www.bacc.or.th/ for additional details on the show.
