IRVINE, CA, July 22, 2011 (Press-News.org) Smarthome, the world's largest home automation retailer, is now accepting pre-orders for its MT 400 water leak detection alarm, said Vice President of Marketing Laurie Maroni.
This battery-powered sensor can be placed anywhere leaks may occur, such as behind toilets, under sinks, and by water heaters. When the unit detects water, it sounds a loud 95 decibel alarm to notify homeowners where the excess water is located. Its small design allows it to fit in tight places, making it easy to fit virtually anywhere. The leak alarm's neutral color also blends with most bathroom decors.
"Undetected water leaks can cause thousands of dollars in damage" said Maroni. "For a small price, you can have peace of mind knowing that a small leak will not turn into a larger problem."
The device includes one 9-volt battery and alerts you when the battery is running low. Under regular use the battery life is over one year, however annual battery checks are recommended.
The water leak detection alarm is currently available $7.99 at http://www.smarthome.com, and is expected to begin shipping at the end of July.
Founded in 1992, Smarthome was created based on the realization of a need for automated products that make lives easier, safer and more enjoyable. Today, Smarthome sells more than 13,000 hard-to-find products, including home automation solutions featuring award-winning INSTEON technology. Smarthome sells online through their award-winning website at Smarthome.com, through their direct mail catalog and via their brick and mortar retail store located in Irvine, CA.
