Donna Preiss of The Preiss Company to Participate in Bisnow's Power Women of Atlanta Summit

Female business leaders from around the nation to share professional experiences and corporate insights

2011-08-12
RALEIGH, NC, August 12, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Preiss Company, one of the largest student housing providers in the nation, is pleased to announce that company founder and CEO, Donna Preiss, will be participating in the upcoming Power Women of Atlanta summit presented by Bisnow. The event will occur on Friday, August 19th at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta Buckhead.

Bisnow (www.bisnow.com) consists of twenty daily e-newsletters focused on business niches in Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, DC, Houston, Los Angeles, National, New York, and South Florida. Today, the company is the best read publication in the fields they cover with over 300,000 subscribers.

Preiss recently participated in a panel discussion at another Bisnow event held earlier this year. The DC Student Housing Summit held in Washington, DC addressed student housing as a sound financial investment opportunity and discussed the expectations of incoming residents.

"Bisnow is such a respected and well-known name throughout so many industries, it's always an honor and privilege to be asked to participate in one of their events," says Preiss. "I'm especially excited about the upcoming summit in Atlanta. The opportunity to share my professional experiences with other female executives is extremely gratifying and rewarding."

Bisnow has held similar women-only events in DC, but this is the first in Atlanta. Event producer, Olivia Merlino, said that the events in Washington typically attract between 200-250 women who represent a wide array of industries. Joining Preiss in Atlanta will be Mae Douglas, EVP/Chief People Officer for Cox Communications, Shirley Powell, EVP, Corporate Communications for The Weather Channel Companies, and Ann Cramer, Director, Americas, Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Affairs for IBM Americas. Serving as moderator will be Lori Kilberg, Partner for Hartman Simons & Wood LLP.

"Bisnow is so fortunate to have these talented and successful women participate in our first women's event in Atlanta," says Merlino. "The intent of this event is for women to listen to these amazing leaders and to learn from their individual experiences and perspectives. I want attendees to leave with advice that they can begin using right away. Donna is particularly good at giving specific examples and sharing pertinent life lessons that others can easily implement within their own personal or professional lives. There are still relatively few high-powered women in the 'C-Suite' so these women are definitely true role models."

Merlino adds that she's hoping to bring the women's summit to other cities throughout the nation in the future. For more information about the Power Women of Atlanta summit or to register, visit http://tinyurl.com/3lew5rf.

One meaningful coincidence that played itself out was through Mark and Kim meeting Dr. Thom Rogers, founder of Optimal Modification, Inc. ...
