M. Damodaran and Avinder Bindra Join Salwan Media's Advisory Board

Former SEBI Chairman and leading investment banker to advice Salwan Media's management team on its rapid plans for expansion

NEW DELHI, INDIA, December 23, 2011 (Press-News.org) Salwan Media a company focused on education, consumer and business information, announced that Mr. M. Damodaran and Mr. Avinder (Avi) S. Bindra joined the company's Advisory Board today. Both bring strong leadership, strategic and operational experience spanning government and financial services that will help guide Salwan Media's growth in the coming years.

Mr. M. Damodaran, an independent consultant and board member of several leading companies, is a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and former Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). During a distinguished career in government, he held increasingly important roles in the Ministries of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce among several other important roles in both India's Central and State Governments and financial institutions. He currently serves as an independent director of companies like Tech Mahindra, Hero MotoCorp, ING Vysya Bank and an advisor to ING Group in India. He currently also heads the Board of Governors at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Tiruchirappalli. He is widely acknowledged as one of India's foremost champions of Corporate Governance, and has won several awards for leadership, governance, transformation and public service. With over three decades of investment banking experience in the Asia Pacific region based out of Hong Kong and Singapore, Mr. Avinder S. Bindra, CEO of ARX Analytics and Advisory Pvt. Ltd., has received several accolades during his career as an international banker. He was named by the IFR magazines as one of the "Top 30 Bankers in the World" and Euro Week magazine's "Top 25 Bankers" in the Asia region. At Citigroup he served as Deputy Chief Executive of Citicorp International Ltd. and Managing Director of Salomon Smith Barney. Subsequent to Citigroup he joined HSBC as Co-Head of Investment Banking, Asia Pacific. His last assignment at HSBC was as The Head of the Financing and Risk Advisory Group, which he founded and which offered strategic advice to the bank's key clients in the region. Upon his return to India, he started ARX Analytics & Advisory Private Limited which specializes in risk management software for financial institutions. He is also a non-executive director of AIG Global Asset Management Company (India) Private Limited and SREI Infrastructure Finance Limited.
