The American group are due to make a rare appearance at the Melkweg venue, two years after they last treated fans in the Dutch city to their bass-heavy and psychedelic soundscapes.

With approximately 20 million records sold worldwide, Cypress Hill broke new ground for hip-hop when they emerged from South Gate, California in the early 1990s.

Based around the core trio of B-Real, Sen Dog and DJ Muggs, they were the first Latino rap group to record multi-platinum album sales.

Their 1993 single Insane in the Brain - taken from second studio album Black Sunday - was a huge crossover hit and exposed the group to a wider audience.

More recently, they have collaborated with British dubstep producer Rusko on a joint EP that is due for release in June.

Tickets to see Cypress Hill live in Amsterdam are priced at EUR35 (GBP28.10) plus booking fee and can be purchased online.
