Servier Australia Improves Quality of Life Through Pharmaceutical Innovation and Social Responsibility Programs, in Healthcare Global

As discussed in Healthcare Global, Servier Australia specialises in ethical pharmaceuticals, promoting patients' health and well-being.

2012-05-17
SAN DIEGO, CA, May 17, 2012 (Press-News.org) In a report in Healthcare Global, CEO Patrick Tete discusses how Servier Australia remains a leader in the Australian pharmaceutical industry.

Servier specialises in pharmaceutical research and development, but as a privately-owned entity, the company operates with different principles in mind than their giant pharmaceutical competitors. "Servier became a foundation, and as such, all profits are re-invested in Research and Development. We do not have to meet shareholders expectations, therefore we can focus on long term strategies" says CEO Patrick Tete.

With a focus on indigenous communities, Servier Australia supports philanthropic programs with an aim to combat the dramatic rise in cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Significant decreases in renal disease and diabetes have already been observed and Tete says, "We will continue to commit to such philanthropic initiatives that aim to educate and support indigenous communities to encourage positive health outcomes."

Servier Australia also supports trusted charities. It has recently announced a significant partnership with Lifeline, the leading provider of crisis services, mental health and suicide prevention in Australia. Lifeline has recently launched its foundation for suicide prevention to find better ways to assist those individuals in need with accessing continuing professional care and to create better partnerships between crisis services and clinical services.
