SkyDox Announced as a Finalist in the 2012 Cloud Computing World Series Awards

SkyDox, a leading provider of cloud-enabled file sharing, synchronization, storage, and collaboration tools, today announced that it has been selected as a finalist for the Cloud Computing World Forum's 2012 Cloud Computing World Series Awards.

2012-06-28
LONDON, ENGLAND, June 28, 2012 (Press-News.org) SkyDox, a leading provider of cloud-enabled file sharing, synchronization, storage, and collaboration tools, today announced that it has been selected as a finalist for the Cloud Computing World Forum's 2012 Cloud Computing World Series Awards based on its work with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
The Cloud Computing World Forum is Europe's largest cloud computing event, with over 3,000 senior IT decision-makers attending. This year, the award received a record number of companies and organizations taking part, with over 250 entries submitted. After a unique and extensive assessment that included a rigorous peer group review and customer references, SkyDox was selected as one of only three finalists in the "Best Enterprise Case Study" category for its work with the ECHR.

The ECHR, the world's largest court, recently enlisted SkyDox to develop a new search platform for its public-facing legal documents related to its rulings. The new system will allow more than 4.6 million visitors a year to search and retrieve an ever-expanding library of more than 90,000 ECHR judgement-related documents in a more efficient and intuitive manner. SkyDox was the only collaboration and file-sharing providers to be able to enhance the search and sharing functionality of the organization's existing enterprise content management (ECM) and document management (DMS) systems. SkyDox is integrating a new UI with Microsoft FAST, SharePoint ECM, and Hummingbird DMS to ensure that visitors can search for and access documents within seconds of being published.

SkyDox is leveraging its expertise garnered from the development of its search UI developed for its Web 2.0 cloud-enabled file sharing and collaboration platform. SkyDox's platform allows users to store, share, collaborate, and synchronize over 200 file types, driving team and individual productivity. Users can co-author and manage files and document-centric collaborations in the office, remotely, and through any browser-enabled device. The platform also delivers a range of social business tools, such as activity feeds, online meetings, presence indicators, and dynamic email alerts to users. SkyDox allows users to assign folder and document level access rights and permissions, designed to prevent the downloading or passing on of confidential files to another party without authorization. In addition, the ability to track file access and viewing at a page level allows users to determine if, and when, the document was opened, with whom it was shared, and which pages attracted the most interest.

In order to meet enterprise availability requirements, SkyDox's data centers provide the latest secure, scalable infrastructure for its cloud platform. SkyDox's data centers in Europe, North America and Asia are ASHRAY, ISO 27001 certified for Information Security Management System (ISMS), and/or SAS70 audited. Data center sites are also Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) accredited, meeting US government security standards 140-2 for cryptographic modules protecting sensitive information, load balancing, and use of FIPS 140-2 validated hardware. Furthermore, the platform is healthcare application compliant with HIPPA's Security and Privacy Rules accreditation. All data hosted by the platform is SSL-encrypted in transit and AES-encrypted while at rest, and document access is password-protected and only granted to authenticated users.

"We're delighted to be a finalist in the 2012 Cloud Computing World Series Awards," said Ali Moinuddin, SkyDox CMO. "We're proud to have applied SkyDox's experience in providing a simple, yet efficient, metadata tagging process as well as our expertise in creating an intuitive user interface to provide a solution for the ECHR's specific requirements. The end result is simple, but the work behind it is incredibly complex. We're honored that this is something the Cloud Computing World Forum has recognized."
