International Photographer Olivia Barrionuevo to Exhibit Latest Work and Exclusive Views at Avenue 50 Studio

Acclaimed international photographer Olivia Barrionuevo's latest work will be featured at The Avenue 50 Studio through August 5 with an opening reception on July 14.

HIGHLAND PARK, CA, July 11, 2012 (Press-News.org) Acclaimed international photographer Olivia Barrionuevo's latest work will be featured at The Avenue 50 Studio through August 5 with an opening reception on July 14. Barrionuevo captures the soul of the ancient Maya and Aztec civilizations in her latest exhibit, Espejos, where "The Ancient Mexicans" project is presented.

Along with her award-winning photographs, international exhibition and published work, Barrionuevo was recently featured in a single exhibition by the General Mexican Consulate. Her work was also recently featured in Time Square as part of New York's "Art Takes Time Square" multi-media production. Barrionuevo is currently working on a multi-media project as part of ongoing evolutin of "The Ancient Mexicans." As she awaits supporters for her multi-media work, Espejos is a sneak peek into the collection and upcoming projects.

"Since 2006, we have been following Barrionuevo's work, and are thrilled to see her continue to produce her culturally rich photographs. The power they evoke is poetically mysterious, and infuses us with pride of culture. Olivia continues to challenge herself -- and us as viewers -- to expand the language of photography," Kathy Gallegos, Director, Avenue 50 Studio.

The exhibit will be curated by artist Andres Montoya. This will be the Avenue 50 Studio's very first fine art photography exhibition held in the main gallery and will also feature photography by Horcasitas.

In addition to covering Mexican presidential campaigns and photographing feature films, Barrionuevo has been awarded impressive internships at the Los Angeles Times and has studied with the renowned Annie Leibovitz. She is currently working on a book production of her work and seeking national publication.

Her photographs have been exhibited at The Center for Fine Arts, The Museum of Tolerance, University of Judaism, Self-Help Graphics, the Center for Fine Art Photography, The Historical Lummis House, and Belenky Gallery in New York. Her work is also featured as a permanent collection of Centro de la Imagen in Mexico, City.

She has won numerous awards, Book of the Month by A&I, most recently she is the recipient of prestigious honors by the International Photography Awards (IPA) in the Advertising, Portraiture and Children category. Additionally she has received awards from the Center for Fine Art Photography and Women in Photography.

Barrionuevo's exhibit will run July 14 through August 5, 2012 at Avenue 50 Studio, Inc.
