GURNEE, IL, August 22, 2012 (Press-News.org) Ludwig and Company, a leader in the residential real estate industry serving residents across the Chicagoland area, is partnering with the Northern Illinois Food Bank to sponsor a food drive in September to recognize Hunger Action Month. The food drive will run through the entire month of September, and aims to make an impact on the hunger crisis existing right within our own communities.
According to Northern Illinois Food Bank, within Lake County alone, 11.3 percent of residents are facing food insecurity; 35,750 of the individuals in this category are children. Northern Illinois Food Bank is a non-profit organization that engages the community in a commitment to feed our hungry neighbors. Ludwig and Company has chosen to partner with the organization in order to host a food drive to elevate participation and awareness of hunger in our local areas.
"Given the nature of our industry, the wellbeing of our area's seniors and the less fortunate, this program is of the utmost importance to us, as a company," said Richard Goldstein, Vice President of Ludwig and Company. "It is very troubling to think of how many people are affected by hunger throughout the Chicagoland area. It is imperative and our social responsibility as a company to help the fight against hunger."
The food drive will run from September 1st through the 30th. The drive will allow our resident s to simply select food items from the Food Bank's list of items needed for donations. All donations will go toward helping the Northern Illinois Food Bank provide balanced meals to those impoverished members of our communities facing food insecurity.
"We are proud to align ourselves and our clients with such an outstanding organization and cause, and we really hope to see as many residents as possible doing their part by participating in the food drive," said Goldstein. "By joining together in this movement, we can truly make a great and lasting impact for the less fortunate in our communities."
