BERLIN, GERMANY, September 09, 2012 (Press-News.org) Managing translation jobs and invoicing customers are time-consuming tasks which must be taken care of by every freelance translator. TERRA is a new software that will help language professionals to grow their business without growing their workload.
Based in Berlin, Element Language Technology (ELT) is proud to present TERRA to the translation and localization market. TERRA is the brainchild of Sebastian Goralik, owner of ELT and himself a freelance translator. With the help of friends who work as translators, the idea to minimize the administrative process has spawned an application which meets all expectations.
"Soon after I had started to work as a freelance translator, I started to wonder why I had to spend that much time with finances and writing invoices. I wanted to focus on translation. There must be an easier way," recalls Sebastian. At first sight, TERRA is not that much different from a webmail account. "I have intentionally kept the user interface simple to open up the view on the essential information for the user," informs Sebastian.
TERRA is capable of depicting the entire administrative life cycle of a translation. Starting with the acceptance of the order, to the automatic creation of an invoice, to the tracking of the incoming payment, this software supports the translator in his/her work. "While developing TERRA it was important to me to have access to my business data anywhere and at any time without having to log on to yet another system," says Sebastian. The software will send out e- mails to its user as soon as a translation or a payment is overdue. With the help of automatically created calendar entries, job details can be synchronized with the calendar in Outlook or any other e-mail application.
The innovative translation management system is available in three versions catering to all levels of enterprise. TERRA Free is a free of charge, fully functional and unlimited trial version and a great way to try out the system. TERRA Starter and TERRA Professional increase the amount of translation jobs, clients and templates which can be stored, and both require monthly subscription. Each version is identical in terms of the functions available. All communication over the internet is encrypted and data is backed up multiple times each day. "The security of the business data is the top priority," emphasizes Sebastian.
Anyone who decides in favor of TERRA will not only benefit from mobility, but also current standards, such as Unicode, which supports data input in different writing systems. "Frankly, I can't imagine working without TERRA," says Sebastian. "Since I have started working with it, I no longer spend my weekends writing invoices and collecting financial data for my tax return in three different places. I can do it all from my tablet whilst waiting for a plane, and my weekends are my own again."
