WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, September 30, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Small Business Development Center of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties announces the addition of Matthew McConville, principal of The Captree Company in Ventura, to its team of advisors. The Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County's SBDC roster of approximately 30 advisors offers area businesses free one-on-one advising and workshops to help their businesses grow.
As an SBDC advisor, McConville will assist companies with issues related to government contracts, management, and negotiation and dispute resolution.
"Matt has helped many companies navigate the oftentimes complex contract negotiation process. This specialized skill set, along with his management development experience, provides area companies with the information they need to efficiently grow their business and add jobs," said Ray Bowman, director of the Small Business Development Center of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.
McConville has 35 years' experience in contracts management in highly regulated global business environments. He has extensive experience in government, commercial and international contracts and subcontracts management, including negotiating complex contracts, teaming and other business agreements in diverse international environments, and developing technical assistance agreements and other export licenses. He has an MBA from the Bernard M. Baruch College at City University of New York.
The SBDC is funded by the SBA and provides professional business assistance at no cost to businesses. Participating businesses are required to follow a well-defined scope of work and report their economic successes. These SBA milestones are defined as job creation, increase in sales, capital investment, jobs retained and business started.
