Topper's Pizza Cooks Up Amazingly Delicious New Recipe as a Way to Give Back to Collingwood General & Marine Hospital

Topper's Pizza Fundraising Inititative to Support Colllingwood Hospital

2012-11-16
BARRIE, ON, November 16, 2012 (Press-News.org) Topper's Pizza stores in Collingwood and Wasaga Beach are raising dough for a good cause. From now until December 31, 2012, the one-of-a-kind Collingwood General & Marine Spicy Bacon Ranch Chicken pizza is being offered at both locations, with $2 from each pizza sold directed towards the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital's New Age of Care program (www.cgmhf.com).

The fundraising initiative started with a contest to name a new pizza flavour. Working with the hospital, Topper's Pizza invited hospital staff members to submit recipe ideas which were cooked up by Topper's and voted on at a special tasting held at the hospital. The winning pizza - Spicy Bacon Ranch Chicken - comes from Pharmacy Manager Rick Lorenz and features a buffalo wing and ranch sauce base, topped with chicken strips, bacon, onion, tomatoes, hot peppers, and then a sprinkle of chili flakes on the melted cheese.

"Back in Regina, my good friend Aaron and I would always custom order this whenever we went out for pizza. I've never seen it offered on a menu until now, but I think this is going to be popular," said Lorenz.

"Topper's Pizza is so proud to support the G&M Hospital's New Age of Care Program by offering this fundraising pizza," said local Topper's franchise owner Ron Crocker, who has lived in the community for more than 20 years. "... I've raised my kids to realize the importance of giving back and this is a great way to help."

The special fundraising pizza is available exclusively at the Collingwood (99 Balsam St.) and Wasaga Beach (1295 Mosley St.) locations. Crocker's stores will donate $1 from each pizza sold and Topper's Franchise Company Inc., owned by the Toppazzini family, will match each dollar raised bringing the total donation to $2. Orders can be placed by calling Topper's Collingwood at 705-445-3433 or Topper's Wasaga Beach at 705-422-7171.
