2012-11-16
SHERMAN OAKS, CA, November 16, 2012 (Press-News.org) Mikel James debut album "Perfect" is characterized by electrifying beats and upbeat vocals but the artist's power to captivate his listeners doesn't stop there. "Perfect" features everything from pop and rock to electronic and hip-hop, satisfying the tastes of almost any audience.

The Mikel James band's single "Back To You" off of "Perfect" is a featured game in Rock Band 3 which has brought the band a great deal of attention and earned them many new fans as they download the game and jam along to its catchy chorus and complicated instrument patterns. You can view a video of the game here: http://bit.ly/MikelJamesRockBandTrack

Players/Fans can download the game from the Rock Band 3 catalog (for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Nintendo DS) or on Rock Band Blitz (for Playstation 3 or Xbox Live).

The Long Island based lead singer and songwriter, Mikel James possesses a unique melodic style and song composition leaving the human ear both curious and bothered. Along with his five-piece band, he has been busy in the studio recording while also touring locally.

Parts of Mikel James' accomplishments are that he has won vocal and writing contests from competitions such as: FreeCreditScore.com, Renew Life, "Song of the Year", and a competition sponsored by Wendy's Fast Food Chain. He also co-produced "Perfect" with long time associate Greg Padden of ColaPad Productions; the album was recorded at Cove City Sound Studios in Glen Cove, NY. The team also lends their production talents to other artist such as Q. Adams from Washington D.C. and Chicago singer/songwriter Lauren Santee.

Going forward, he is working with an electro-house production team at Space Plant and was lucky enough to be discovered by Def Jam hip-hop producer Drew who is active in the producing role.

Mikel James musical versatility is unprecedented on "Perfect" and obvious in his newest recordings as James continues to grow as a vocalist citing new influences like John Mayer and Owl City. The newest material is showing a healthy growth of a more ambient sound.
