Book Drive Benefits Team Success Students

Local Businesses Hold Book Drive for Bradenton, Florida Charter School

BRADENTON, FL, November 16, 2012 (Press-News.org) Three local businesses are holding a holiday book drive for students of Team Success, a Title 1 charter school in Bradenton.

"We plan to give each student three books for Christmas," said Mary LeMay of Alltrust Insurance. "Team Success is about the whole child. We want the children to know that Christmas is not just about toys; it's also about their education."

Alltrust Insurance is a sponsor of the book drive, along with Gateway Bank and Al Purmort Insurance.

The book drive will be held between November 16 and December 15. The public is asked to donate new or used books for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. The drop-off locations are Gateway Bank at 2100 Manatee Avenue W. in Bradenton and 1100 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota; Al Purmort Insurance at 3340 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota; and Team Success school at 202 13th Avenue E. in Bradenton.

As a Title 1 school, Team Success serves students of low-income families. The school's pioneering approach, dedicated teachers and commitment to students have enabled it to climb from a "F" school to an "A" school in two years. Telephone: (941) 714-7260 ext. 257. Team Success is intended to help ensure that all children have the opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach proficiency on challenging state academic standards and assessments.
