TCG Extends a Helping Hand to Local Charities During the Holidays

The Continental Group's Orlando office feeds the hungry, plays Santa and raises awareness for breast cancer in Central Florida

2012-12-09
MIAMI, FL, December 09, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Continental Group (TCG), a FirstService Residential Management company, reaches out to its local community by lending its support to various, local charities. Its Orlando regional office will be contributing to a variety of philanthropic activities throughout Central Florida this holiday season.

Each holiday charitable effort is part of Continental Cares, TCG's year-round corporate philanthropic outreach program dedicated to enhancing the lives of the neighbors, residents and communities it serves across Florida. The primary focus of Continental Cares is to reach out to nonprofit organizations and entities that meet the Continental Cares mission.

Employees from TCG's Orlando office are addressing the plight of hunger in their community by donating canned and packaged foods to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, a charity that collects and distributes food locally to stock the pantries of community food banks.

Residents of TCG-managed properties will donate toys in an effort to brighten the Holidays of disadvantaged children by partnering with Toys for Tots. Donation boxes have been placed throughout condominium and HOA communities, and employees will also take part by bringing a wrapped toy to their annual holiday party.

Additionally, TCG's Orlando regional office will hold a bake sale and raffle to benefit Libby's Legacy, a local breast cancer awareness organization that provides free or low-cost preventative screenings or treatment options to the community.

"Our employees are thrilled to take part in these particular charities every year," said Fernando Dominguez, TCG's Senior Vice President of the Central Florida Region. "They affect families that live right here in the Central Florida and Orlando area, so it's always meaningful for us to get involved because we are helping our friends and neighbors."
