WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, October 20, 2010 (Press-News.org) In 1965, Art Stone had a vision of creating a women's only facility where they could feel pampered and get in shape. Now the largest full-service women's only gym in California, Total Woman Gym & Day Spa will celebrate its 45th anniversary with nearly 10,000 women across nine Southern California locations from Oct. 23-30.
Founders Art and Adrienne Stone will be recognized for their contribution to Total Woman at the festive weeklong events, featuring a DJ, children's activities, class demos, tours and membership specials.
In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a portion of spa product sales during the anniversary celebration will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the global leader of the breast cancer movement. Also included during the week-long festivities will be prizes, demos of Total Woman's wide range of classes*, including Zumba, The Groove and Belly Dancing, and Personal Training demos, including Kettlebells, TRX and Pilates. (*Not all demos will be at all locations.)
Children will celebrate too with face painting, custom-made balloon animals and playing in a bounce house.
"Total Woman feels different from other fitness facilities because we are dedicated to providing a welcoming, nurturing and supportive atmosphere. There's an empowering connection between members and the staff," said Karen Wischmann, Total Woman Gym & Day Spa's president/CEO. Anniversary activities will be held in all nine Total Woman locations, kicking off with the Laguna Hills facility, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Oct. 23. The following location events will be:
Oct 25: Encinitas 9 a.m. - noon, and 5-8 p.m.
Oct 26: Irvine 9 a.m. - noon, and 5-8 p.m.
Oct 27: Woodland Hills 9 a.m. - noon, and 5-8 p.m.

Oct: 28 Northridge 9 a.m. - noon, and 5-8 p.m.
and Glendale
Oct. 30 Brea 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
and Placentia
Activities are open to all women interested in attending. Men are welcome in public areas of the gym and spa.
