SAN FRANCISCO, CA, October 20, 2010 (Press-News.org) Guide by Cell President and founder Dave Asheim will appear at the Western Museums Association's 2010 Annual Meeting for a panel entitled "BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology): Mediating the Visitor Experience in the Cell Phone Age."
Asheim will give a presentation on the past, present and future of mobile technology in museums, followed by technology planning presentations from fellow panelists Sandra Jackson-Dumont, Deputy Director for Education at the Seattle Art Museum and Kate Burns, Interactive Media Producer at the Portland Art Museum.
The purpose of the panel is to provide insight to museums of all sizes on the advantages of cell phone technology to better engage the modern visitor, as well as how to navigate changes in social media and Smartphone capabilities.
The 75th Annual Western Museums Association Annual Meeting takes place from Sunday, October 17 to Wednesday, October 20, 2010 in Portland, OR.
The theme of this year's meeting is "75 Years: Reflecting on the Past, Envisioning the Future."
