HighOrbit Streamlines Accounts Payable Process, Saves Money for TCompanies

To address a core business process need, TCompanies, a firm that provides services to support the transportation industry, recently called upon HighOrbit to implement an automated workflow solution for their accounts payable process.

2013-01-31
DARDENNE PRAIRIE, MO, January 31, 2013 (Press-News.org) The shipping of products around the country is vital to our economy, so streamlining of the processes within companies in the transportation industry can help to ensure the efficient flow of materials from place to place. To address a core business process need, TCompanies, a firm that provides services to support the transportation industry, recently called upon HighOrbit to implement an automated workflow solution for their accounts payable process.

With five separate companies and 14 locations across the U.S. under the TCompanies umbrella, the firm recognized the need for an automated process that would manage an invoice from the time it is received, at any of the field offices or the corporate headquarters, all the way through the approval process and payment. The system would have to interface with TCompanies' accounting software, transferring that payment information to avoid duplicate entry and the possibility of error.

HighOrbit was chosen for its flexibility and scalability, but most importantly, for its ease of use which allows TCompanies to manage changes to the processes in house without having to rely on technical support or expertise. The system currently has over 20 users in 5 companies across the TCompanies organization. Several different departments are involved in the accounts payable and invoice approval process, so online accessibility and centralization of information have been critical.

According to Tom Burke, Owner of TCompanies, the implementation of HighOrbit has been a great success for the firm. "Life has changed at TCompanies since we started using HighOrbit for our invoice approval and payment process. We have saved time and money, and avoid the frustration caused by not knowing the status of an invoice," said Burke. "Managers are extremely pleased with the system's ease of use, and the new processes that were created."

"We have saved a significant amount of money by putting invoices front and center, allowing us to look at our costs, and evaluate services that we had been paying for that no longer made sense for us," said Burke.

According to HighOrbit's Brian Dwyer, the company's business process management solution was developed to give companies greater control over the individual processes they rely on for the successful operation of their business. "In TCompanies' case, the firm was seeking control and efficiencies in its accounts payable and invoice approval process. They were able to leverage HighOrbit's web-based software and customized process creation capabilities to achieve their goals, and save money," he said.
