COLUMBIA, MD, February 07, 2013 (Press-News.org) Josh Notes, Jason Jannati and Matej Harangozo all graduated from Oakland Mills High School and shortly after started greeNEWit, an organization founded to help society build more sustainable communities and better economies through energy efficiency and conserving the use of natural resources. Now, the founders (all under the age of 30) are going local and giving back to the Oakland Mills High School Boosters Club at the 2013 Annual Bull Roast Fundraiser taking place February 9, 2013 at the high school located at 9410 Kilimanjaro Rd., Columbia, Maryland.
greeNEWit is getting involved by donating to the Silent Auction that will directly benefit Oakland Mills High School students by providing financial support to the academic, athletic and extracurricular programs.
"At greeNEWit, community is important," Co-Founder Josh Notes said. "We appreciate all of the support we've received over the years from Oakland Mills High School and Boosters Club, and we're happy to do our part in helping advance the wonderful school system in Howard County while supporting entrepreneurship and our local neighborhoods."
At the Annual Bull Roast Fundraiser, greeNEWit will also be raising community awareness for the Quick Home Energy Checkup (QHEC) Program that is a quick and easy way for Oakland Mills families to increase the energy efficiency of their homes and start saving money and energy immediately. The energy and water saving upgrades include installation of energy efficient CFL light bulbs, aerators, low flow showerheads, water heater tank wraps and pipe insulation. As a part of the Empower Maryland Act, QHECs are provided at no additional cost to the usual monthly utility bills of homeowners.
