San Diego Self Storage Collects Record Number of Donations for 2012 Toys for Tots Holiday Toy Drive

SAN DIEGO, CA, February 09, 2013 (Press-News.org) San Diego Self Storage (SDSS) sponsored its 14th annual holiday toy drive benefiting Toys for Tots by collecting toys at each of their 18 locations throughout the greater San Diego region with a cumulative number of toys equaling 16,232 donations. During the toy drive, all San Diego Self Storage facilities collected toys at each of their San Diego County facilities in addition to the toys received at the San Diego Charger home game on, December 16, 2012 at Qualcomm stadium. This equates to an increase of donations collected over those accumulated last year, which totaled 10,726 toys.

According to SDSS Managing Partner, J. Terry Aston, "We're very pleased to announce a significant increase in the number of toys donated this year over our collection from last year. Initially, the collection campaign was facing a challenge in the first half of the campaign with regard to number of toys donated, but San Diego residents rose to the occasion and helped us surpass the number of toys collected over last year. We're grateful for all who donated during the campaign that allows us to provide a meaningful holiday celebration for families who are in need." The US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program delivers new toys during the holidays, with the purpose of sending a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders (toysfortots.org).
