Care Agency Directors Plan Expansion After Inspection Success

Directors of East Sussex based Avens Supported Living Sussex (Avens Limited) are celebrating after receiving the results of a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the regulators of health and social care in England.

2013-04-06
EAST SUSSEX, ENGLAND, April 06, 2013 (Press-News.org) Avens Supported Living Sussex (ASLS) built on its fantastic results from 2012 and achieved very high levels of care delivery having met the required standards in all of the areas that were inspected.

ASLS works with private landlords to provide support to adults with learning disabilities to live independently in their own homes. Inspectors from the (CQC) visited the care agency as part of an unannounced routine inspection and judged that ASLS was meeting all essential standards of quality and safety.

The inspection covered care, user involvement, welfare and rights, as well as the competency of staff. Safeguarding, staff support and the management of the service provided were also monitored.

The Directors of ASLS, which forms part of the Avens Ltd group, are hoping that this excellent inspection result will prove to be a sound basis for a planned business expansion. Managing Director of Avens Ltd Chris Andrews said: "I am delighted by this positive report. We were thrilled to receive feedback that we are compliant with all of the standards reviewed by the CQC. The CQC's findings demonstrate our dedication and commitment to offering a quality service to the East Sussex community.

"This good news coincides with a planned business expansion in East Sussex. The Directors have recently nominated Development Director Jennifer Prus onto the board. Jennifer's role will be to engineer the company's growth by seeking opportunities to expand the supported living business. We hope in doing so she will establish contact with private landlords who may be interested in an alternative option when it to comes to renting out their property."

ASLS currently looks after more than 40 people in a supported living environment. The main goal is for customers, to become as independent as they can, with as much support available to them as required.

ASLS are able to provide this service by working in collaboration with private landlords.
