SEATTLE, WA, May 08, 2013 (Press-News.org) The first digital writing and lifestyle magazine hits the market today as part of a collaborative project between Seattle-based companies 30 Day Books and Studio Pepwuper. The Write Life Magazine is a digital app that can be read on any mobile smartphone or tablet device. This allows for superb interactivity such as hot linking to the web, a pop up video feature, and an in-app audio player that allows for a soundtrack to accompany the reading experience.
"We're excited to bring a fresh monthly voice that appeals to everyone who delights in writing, whether they call themselves a writer or not. The aim is to inspire people and get them invigorated about writing again." - Laura Pepper Wu, Editor
While The Write Life covers writing and publishing subjects and trends, the features in each issue also span a variety of fields that appeal to those who enjoy writing, and want something more from the experience other than reading about the technicalities of the writing process.
"We notice several commonalities among writers outside of writing, and by embracing that we've crafted engaging and entertaining content that both inspires and educates our readers who are truly modern day writers. We've had a ball throwing in food, music, coffee, and technology features along with writing and publishing. It's everything you care about as a modern day writer." - Wu
The Write Life will be published monthly. In addition to personal essays, features such as "Coffee Chats in Coffee Shops," "Kids Write the Funniest Things," "Food, Fashion & Design Round Up," "Tech Tools for Writers," "So You Wanna Be a...," and Q & A sessions with a variety of writers, bloggers and authors will also be included.
"We've been impressed by the fast uptake of books on eReaders and digital devices over the last 3-5 years. We're truly excited about the future of digital magazines, and the level of interactivity we can have with our readers is quite amazing. After reading about a product, book, or person, you can click right through to a website, purchase the book right away, or go follow someone on Twitter. You can listen to music while you read, watch videos, and really see the articles and essays come to life through multimedia. It makes for a very personal and intimate experience." - Wu
