Managing Director, Etienne Roux of Cape Great Fence and Wire Works, Discusses Their Rapid Expansion in African Business Review
2011-03-19
SAN DIEGO, CA, March 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) Cape Gate Fence and Wire Works remains a family-run business but is still growing and continues to enter new African markets.

"It is ironic we started with the name Cape Gate as we are now starting to put a range of security gates on the market. These are steel gates that are used in front of your doorway for security purposes. Having a problem with crime in South Africa, it is something that is unavoidable so every household needs a security gate," says Roux.

Cape Gate currently employs 400 people at its 20,000sqm Cape Town plant. The company has a footprint of depots and regional sales offices that extend to George, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Johannesburg, and Upington.

Although Cape Gate are widely known for producing gates and fences, Managing Director Etienne Roux reveals that its materials handling equipment range is the company's current major focus.

"Our materials handling equipment products have been around for six to seven years and are used by central distribution warehouses that transport goods to individual retailers and then onto the shop floor," says Roux.
