Tec-Nor integrates Uplogix remote management into VSAT deployments in the energy industry

System integrator's adoption of Uplogix automated remote management technology marks inaugural sale for recently-opened Mexico sales office

2010-09-11
AUSTIN, TX, September 11, 2010 (Press-News.org) Uplogix, the leading provider of remote network management automation, announced that Tec-Nor, a data and communications systems integrator headquartered in Monterrey, Mexico, has deployed Uplogix appliances in VSAT applications for the oil & gas industry.

Tec-Nor is using Uplogix at both land-based sites using VSAT communications, as well as offshore energy platforms for persistent connectivity and automated management and recovery of hybrid infrastructure. By deploying locally and connecting directly to satellite, SCADA and traditional networking gear, Uplogix' intelligent appliances are able to manage devices without relying on the network and can take proactive and corrective actions.

"Uplogix will help lower our support costs of remote networks," said Santiago Zubiria, CEO of Tec-Nor. "The combination of automation with a reliable Iridium out-of-band connection at remote sites will enable us to improve network uptime and deliver better service for our VSAT customers."

The partnership is the first for the Mexico sales office of Uplogix. Regional Manager for Mexico, Pablo Aramburu said, "With so many opportunities for Automated Remote Management in the IT infrastructure of Mexico's expanding Energy, Banking and Retail markets, we're excited to begin operations locally." The office is located in Monterrey and can be reached at +52 81 8306 0220 Follow the office at twitter.com/UplogixMexico.

"Uplogix customers have deployed our appliances in Mexico for years," said Mark Piening, Uplogix vice-president for product management and marketing. "Opening an office in Monterrey gives us the opportunity for more frequent and direct interactions with customers and to provide a more consultative sales process."

Uplogix will be showcasing the Automated Remote Management (ARM) platform at Cisco Networkers - Mexico in Acapulco from October 6-8. As registered Cisco Developer, the Uplogix booth will be in the Cisco Partner Pavilion.

2010-09-11
The U.S. Postal Service may have delivered 25 billion less pieces of mail this year than the year before, but that doesn't bother Envelopes.com one bit. At a time when emailing, text messaging, tweeting and video chatting are hugely popular means of communicating, the recently renamed online supplier of traditional stationery and envelopes has no intention of going the way of the ice box and the rotary phone. In fact, Envelopes.com, formerly Action Envelope, is not only holding its own against its digital competition, but is rapidly growing its business. "In today's ...

Compassionate Caregivers of Maine was formed earlier this year with the goal of acting as a matchmaker between ...
