Budo Videos is anticipating the release of the 7th batch of Shoyoroll Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gis on September 10. The website is counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the line hits. The company expects the line to sell out within one week of launch.These limited edition Gis, which are in their 7th edition, come in two styles: the 7th Sun Black Kimono Gi and the Golden State white kimono Gi.
The white kimono Gi, designed by SYR, is a 450 gram lightweight pearl weave Gi that comes in white with blue stitching. The pants, sold separately, are made of 10 oz drill cotton and come in sizes A00 to A5.
The White Kimono is yet another version of the lightweight 450 gram kimono series. This Gi is designed with a tailored fit, contrast stitching, a flexible drawstring and an MP3/ID pocket in the jacket. The company decided to change to a heavier duty fabric on the ripstop pants, which allows for less wear and tear and less shrinkage when compared to previous styles of Shoyoroll Gi pants.
The 7th Sun black kimono Gi represents Budo Videos first release of a 450 gram black kimono. The black kimono's design is a result of collaboration between SYR and Jiu Jitsu black belt/MMA fighter and tattoo artist Luke Stewart. Luke Stewart, who named the Gi the same name as his tattoo shop, also designed some of the embroidery of his Shoyoroll Gi.
The black kimono comes in black with orange stitching and comes in sizes A00 to A5. The pants, available separately, come complete with ripstop crotch and knee pads designed to provide extra comfort during heavy practice and competition.
