SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, April 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Iconic singer-songwriter Ben Folds is set to play two shows in Sydney at the start of next month.
The multi-instrumentalist is touring with his band in support of acclaimed new record Lonely Album, a joint effort between Folds and bestselling English author Nick Hornby.
Folds first found fame in Australia back in 1996 as the leader of Ben Folds Five. Their self-titled debut album enjoyed mainstream success and single Underground ranked at number three on national radio station triple j's end-of-year Hottest 100 chart.
This was followed up by second LP Whatever and Ever, Amen, which went platinum.
He has previously sold out four consecutive nights at the Sydney Opera House, but his upcoming shows will see him take the stage at the more intimate State Theatre.
The concerts are scheduled for May 13th and 14th 2011, with doors opening at 19:30 local time on both nights.
All tickets are priced at AU$96.35 plus booking fee.
The Rocking the Suburbs singer will be supported by Brisbane musician Kate Miller-Heidke, one of the many artists to have collaborated with Folds in the past.
