BARBADOS, June 01, 2011

Saturday night, NexCyx closed the curtain on "52811," its first ever full-length concert in Barbados. A celebration of their successful kick-off to 2011, the band also officially launched its debut EP, "Queen" at the event.

Performing to a crowd of visitors and locals at The Ship Inn, St. Lawrence Gap, NexCyx churned out several of its popular hits, including breakout single, "Gossip Girl," which ended a high-powered near 90-minute performance.

"NexCyx is so thrilled to have been able to finally give our fans what they've been asking for: an audio collection of our songs and an uninterrupted concert featuring our band—all in one night," said Mahalia, frontwoman of the five-person musical outfit.

The lead singer shone on stage in pieces from the John Hardy collection, underwritten by sponsor Diamonds International Barbados. Her bandmates sported items from that line, along with statement-making TW Steel watches, also part of the store's catalogue.

IGM Lighting and Events Unusual collaborated on the performance stage, which created an ambient setting for NexCyx' set.

In addition to the three major sponsors and their representatives, a who's who of Barbados entertainment and other local icons attended 52811: The Concert and After Party.

Cricketing great Joel "Big Bird" Garner, entertainers Anderson "Blood" Armstrong, TC, Tamara Marshall and father of international recording artist, Jaicko, Phillip Forrester, were spotted among the attendees.

VIBE Magazine reporter, John Kennedy, was also part of the audience, signaling the band's growing buzz in markets beyond their home base.

52811 launches a busy summer period for NexCyx, already deep in planning for an expanded tour itinerary to include multiple stops across the island and a series of regional performances.
