LateRooms.com - Enjoy the Painted Pumpkin Trail close to Tenby

Tenby visitors can wander around the beautiful Picton Castle grounds while their children enjoy the Painted Pumpkin Trail this October half-term holiday.

2010-09-23
TENBY, ENGLAND, September 23, 2010 (Press-News.org) Parents heading to Tenby over the half-term holidays may wish to take their little ones to the Painted Pumpkin Trail at Picton Castle, which is easily reached by car.

The autumn break begins on October 23rd 2010 for many children and people may have plans to take their family to one of the fine hotels Tenby has to offer during that time.

Finding something to do with the children during such trips can sometimes be difficult, but the Painted Pumpkin Trail is sure to keep youngsters amused for a while, particularly since there is a prize for those who spot all the decorated produce.

The activity will be available for the whole of the week and parents should note that they are likely to enjoy themselves as well.

Visit Pembrokeshire pointed out that adults can walk along the grounds of Picton Castle and take in the beautiful surroundings while their children run up and down searching for painted pumpkins.

"As the castle's lovely woods tumble into winter and hydrangea heads become skeletal, a curiously wistful air hovers around the medieval walls," explained the tourism website.

Admission is just GBP1 per child for a self-guided pumpkin trail, with entrance to Picton Castle costing GBP4.95 for adults.

Normally, Picton Castle is open from 10:30 to 17:00 BST every day, but the landmark has announced it will be publishing half-term opening hours soon.

For more information on this event visit the Visit Pembrokeshire website or contact the venue on 01437 751 326.
