RALEIGH, NC, March 15, 2012 (Press-News.org) Robert Weiss, artistic director and CEO of Carolina Ballet (http://www.carolinaballet.com), has announced that Lynne Taylor-Corbett, principal guest choreographer, will present a pre-performance discussion of the company's premiere of The Little Mermaid on Friday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ovations Room of Fletcher Opera Theater, located in the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts at 2 E. South St. The talk, taking place prior to the night's 8 p.m. performance, will offer attendees a behind-the-scenes look at humor and drama of Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairytale, as well as Taylor-Corbett's personal insight into how the show provides Broadway-style production values using traditional ballet conventions.

- The Little Mermaid opens Thursday, March 15 and runs over the course of three weekends through Sunday, April 1. The schedule of performances is as follows: Thursday, March 15 and Friday, March 16 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, March 17 and Saturday, March 31 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Saturday, March 24 at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, March 18, Sunday, March 25 and Sunday, April 1 at 2 p.m.
