LBJ Express Project Focuses on Public Outreach Using Real-Time Updates, in Construction Digital

As Discussed in Construction Digital, LBJ Express Project is Helping Manage the Steadily Rising Number of North Texas Commuters

SAN DIEGO, CA, May 23, 2012

In a report in Construction Digital, Director of Corporate Affairs Andy Rittler explains how the LBJ Express Project is improving transportation in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

As the "most regionally significant transportation improvement project in North Texas," the LBJ Express Project is affecting a large number of commuters, businesses and residents in the area. Effective, ongoing communication with the public during construction has been a key driver of the venture.

"Residents will have the benefit of a quicker commute using these managed lanes throughout the metroplex," says Rittler. "They will all be part of interconnected networks in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. That will allow drivers to make a decision ahead of time where they want to go."

Throughout the project, construction is constantly tracked using innovative and cutting-edge technology, enabling real-time developments to be relayed to the public.

About the LBJ Express Project
The $2.7 billion LBJ Express Project is being undertaken to better handle and manage the metro transit area. Originally built to handle 180,000 drivers a day, the project will need to meet the needs of half a million commuters daily by 2020. Working with this large, heavily congested area, LBJ Express will feature four free lanes of traffic supplemented by three, variable speedtoll lanes in which pricing changes based upon demand. The project is slated for completion in 2015.
