SAN DIEGO, CA, March 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) San Diego Self Storage (SDSS) organizational entity of Smart Self Storage of Solana Beach, was Major Sponsor of the 15th annual Del Mar Solana Beach Sunrise Rotary Turf Bocce Ball Family Day and Tournament, held at the Del Mar Horse Park on March 6, 2011. The event which included silent auction, face painting, luncheon and Bocce Ball competition, raised $50,000 to be shared by three beneficiaries: The Community Resource Center, San Diego Advocates for Youth and a Voices for Children. SDSS had ten teams competing for the winning title that was ultimately captured by new incoming team "The Columbians". Seven SDSS teams advanced to the final round: Jamie and Tony Carr; Chris Wood and Tamie Deel; Jim and Renee John; David and Joanna Osuna and Marc Loski and Brian Smith. Two of the seven SDSS teams competed in the final round.
According to Chris Wood, SDSS Area Manager, "Many of the teams had new partners and some had never played bocce ball before. To those who participated, it was not about the final score or making it to the final round, our efforts have given so many organizations a chance to experience the best in humanity. Winning is not everything; in the end the experience and the journey is what shapes a persons' soul ----from that we can say we are all winners."
